Re: New quark f/15
Is it possible that the "missing black part" is the telecentric barlow?
The Questar scope is a slow F15. The normal Quarks should be used at F4 - F8 telescopes. This would be a F17,2-F34 in combination with the quark-filter.
A Quark without the barlow (or a smaller one) would be a very nice way to doubelstack every other solarscope!

Re: New quark f/15
This seems to be a great development!
I tried my Questar with a SM60 front etalon and BF15 many years ago, and the front-loaded weight and configuration of the diagonal BF with a counterweight were a pain, and the results mediocre.
Here it is shown with a temporary adapter (ala MacGyver ) until the real one arrived:
Should hopefully work well and be a welcome choice for this very portable instrument, and of course the mod-heads lurking about!

I think it is. Can´t find anything about it.swisswalter wrote:Hi Vincent

And if you look at the Picture, I think they just molested a damaged/returned Quark. (broken barrel)

Doesn't the Q3.5 have a 2X barlow built into the eyepiece holder. So you can flip it in and out?
I used the Q3.5 with an SO-1 on the camera port. I also stopped it down to 60mm with an ERF. I worked find.
