Coronado BF30 too bright

Hi All,

I bought a BF because in my Mod I had been using the BF15 from my SM60 and wanted to lend that one out. I went big because I thought it would future-proof me in that area.

Problem is that it doesn't look like the other BF's (I have a 10 and a 15, the 10 being on its way out). It comes in a diagonal but doesn't have the second filter on the scope side of the diagonal.

Even on the very shortest exposure I get blown out exposure. When I experimented with adding an ND.25 filter I am barely able to see anything but it proves at least that it is working, just too well.

Any ideas what I should be doing different please.

Thanks,
Fraz.

Ummmm, you've bought a blocking filter without the actual blocking filter in... Where did you get it from?

I bought it from a well known US retailer.
I have connected this and looked through it, how dangerous is that?
I'll contact them and query it.

Thanks.

It looks as if the ITF is missing.

I think I get it :)

There is supposed to be two parts but I only got the one and figured it was like the others.

Fraz, I found this on page 10 in this section regarding the BF30 diagonal type. Not sure if this is what's missing from your setup or if your unit is different, hope it helps.

Yeah, that confirms it. Thanks Gus.

Pity that warning isn't on my diagonal.

The missing part (the blocking filter) has now been supplied and met up with his diagonal friend.

Thanks.
Fraz.
