Not sure if this is the right forum for this. What does everyone use for shading a laptop at the scope? I intend to get a new camera that needs laptop support.
I have enough difficulty throwing a cover over my head with my DSLR at the moment I suspect that laptops pose a whole new problem. Any recommendations ?
Best wishes,
David

Re: Laptop sun shades
I used to have a towel ready, and put it over my head and laptop for focusing/re-focusing. Now it's a medium size cardboard packaging box from Ikea - much better! All you need it to tear some holes for cables. The box is also handy for carrying all the small stuff (power supplies, cables, adapters) around. (It's still best to keep sunglasses on, somewhat lower on the nose, to block light from the bottom of your field of view.)
My software:
Stackistry — an open-source cross-platform image stacker
ImPPG — stack post-processing and animation alignment

SW Mak-Cass 127, ATM Hα scope (D=90 mm, LS50 etalon), Lunt LS50THa, ATM SSM, ATM Newt 300/1500 mm, PGR Chameleon 3 mono (ICX445)

Re: Laptop sun shades
I don't use one at home, my velum is at the right place.
When I'm on the field, I use an iCap that is very well build. It's a bit expansive, but it is worth it.

I have one of these and to stop the wind blowing it off the table the cover is held down with a allen head bolt on each corner to hook the eyelet
