Genika Astro 2.9.4 is available
Hello all,
at last Genika Astro supports Pointgrey USB camera again. The support is for USB 2/3 monochrome camera starting on this release 2.9.4, GigE will hopefully follow soon.
As a bonus, I also added a phase correlation autoguiding (in addition to the center of gravity) to autoguide on surface features in WL and Ha imaging.
Frédéric.

Hi Frederic!
This is a very exciting news!
Autoguiding on a solar feature is big step ahead!
I hope that my GigE camera will work with Genika.

Will the Genika works with PGR GigE camera which connected to the USB3 via adapter GigE -> USB3 ?fjabet wrote:Ruppert kindly sent me one GigE camera. I'll look at this ASAP.
The GigE port in my Dell computer is too slow (100 Kb/sec) and so, I use the above connection.
Thanks,
Valery.

Re: Genika Astro 2.9.4 is available
At least Genika 2.10 is available !
It brings the GigE PGR camera (thanks a lot to Ruppert for lending me a camera ! If you need to buy a PGR camera with Genika, go see him, he is a great guy ).
And also ZWO ASI USB3 camera support with a special focus on color support.
@Valery : now Genika should work with your PGR and it's USB/Ethernet converter
You can get it from genicapture.com to give it a try.

Excellent news, Frederic!
I will sure get it and try.
Thanks for your work in a favor for all of us.
I am also interesting to buy a SSM for my scopes.

Finally my friend came to me and have made that Genika sees my camera and I can see that the camera
works and I can change 12/16 bits and 2x2 binning etc.
The only strange I see is that maximum fps is only 16 fps. I wasn't able to rise the fps speed in a full resolution.
Again, my camera works through a USB3 -> GigE adapter. With FireCapture it works at 31fps (either 8bit or 16bit) -
fully according to camera max speed at a full resolution.
Genika can run the camera at about 56 fps in 2x2 bin.
What should I do to run the camera in Genika at 31fps at 8 bits and 12 or 16bits ?
Also how can I use the ROI?
If all these issues will be solved, how can I purchase the latest full version of Genika
with guiding finction (I do mean guiding at some solar or moon o planets features)?
Regards,
Valery

Hello Valery !
There are two modes with PGR cameras : Mode 0 that gives the best speed, and mode 7 that gives the higher quality (and lower speed).
You have to deactivate the Mode7 in Genika options/acquisition/mode7.
The change is applied immediatly and you should see the speed increasing.

Thanks! But how these both qualities differ ?

Re: Genika Astro 2.9.4 is available
Honestly I don't know Valery.
Readout speed may impact the read out noise, but rather on a CCD sensor than with a CMOS.
The only way to know is it measure the RON in both modes, or ask PGR.

I will try it. Hope all will go well.
BTW Can you tell us when such a option will be build in Genika - autoguding on a chooses solar surface feature?
