Any risk sending/shipping Lunt LS50?

Post by Marcus444 » Thu Mar 02, 2017 7:51 pm

I've recently bought a Moonlite focuser for my LS50, but the stock helical focuser won't unscrew from the scope - it's jammed tight. So have to send it back to Lunt in Germany from UK. I don't have the original packaging foam, but hopefully have packed the scope up just as effectively. My question is this - is there any danger of damaging the scope in transit? I'm nervous about what might happen if it's mishandled.

Have you tried a boa strap to unscrew the stuck focuser?
