Solarscope SF 70 filter DS

Post by Piemme »

Hello,

I would like to know if anybody out there has experience with the Solarscope SF 70 mm (DS or SS) solar filter.
I have the opportunity to buy (from a very trust seller) a "mint" second-hand combo of Televue 76 scope with SF70 DS filter. I know from some opinions that is a very good combination, expecially the DS option, but I wonder if it is really worth the (still) high price. Solarscope is not very popular, probably for the high prices so it's not easy to have informations. I saw in solarchat some comments of members with experience with the SF100 DS filter (high desiderable but really too expensive!) but nobody with the 70 mm DS version. No many reviews on the web.
I'm interested only (at the moment...) in visual and mostly full disc solar viewing.

Thank you very much

Piemme

I have used the 70mm as well as the 100. It was glorious and I was amazed at the detail I got which wasn't that far off the 100mm. I will try and find the photos.

Very Nice - detailed and contrasty - especially for SS.
