2" adapter options for Quarks?

Post by MalVeauX »

Hey all,

So, I used the stock Daystar 2" eyepiece holder on my Quark for a while. It was $50. It's metal of some kind. But the securing screw has already rubbed out the threading of the receiving whole in the 2" barrel and no longer secures things. It's dead. Piece of crap for a metal adapter for $50. So I'm exploring what other options there are for 2" gear that will thread to the body of the Quark? Are there imaging adapters that thread and do not use wimpy thumb screws?

Thanks!

Very best,

Hiya Marty,

I use a Quark to T2 adaptor https://www.firstlightoptics.com/adapte ... to-t2.html then from that I go to a Baader 1.25" clicklock which works well https://www.firstlightoptics.com/adapte ... hread.html

Looks like Baader do a T2 to 2" clicklock https://www.firstlightoptics.com/adapte ... 56242.html

That should get you where you want to be?

Mark

Excellent, I like the idea of the Quark to T2 then a Clicklock. No more fooling with screws and threading. Sweet! :bow

Lemme see if I have this straight. Since this is in North America, it is easier to source so the parts might be different.

This Quark to T adapter:

Then this Baader ClickLock 2" holder with M42 (T?) threads.

https://agenaastro.com/baader-2-click-l ... 56242.html

Does the M42 thread to the T side of the Daystar Quark adapter? I can't quite tell from the images how they would go together.

Very best,

Marty,
How's the view with 2" eyepieces compared to binos?
