Nope, never seen one in the flesh. Looks nice, and in theory should be good, but, I wouldn't want to pay $8k for a Quark grade scope to find it all uneven in terms of illumination and bandpass. Guess i'm juts a little cynical...

Neither would I. I have a 120mm scope, so for that price could probably buy 7 quarks (and get bulk discount?) and hopefully get 1 good one.

;)

Looks interesting but since the fiasco I had with the US 12,500.00 Quantum PE as well as the QUARK I had and the very bad customer service of DayStar, I do not trust them anymore ...

I agree, the price is really high for a quark grade scope

As it employs a Quantum grade solid etalon , it's unlikely to have the uniformity issues

that are normally associated with the Quarks , but yes its still quite expensive

Looks like they have chromo amd prom (read quark grade etalons) available 1-3 weeks, Quantum grade (read better grade etalons) from 3-6 months availability....

I doubt they operate anything like a Quark Mark ... given that their temp and wing

shifting looks as if it can be precisely controlled like a Quantum.

I also note that theres a 2K price difference between the prom & chromo option.
