OT but a question on DSLR filters???

I recently modified my Canon 1000D to provide a FULL full spectrum mod.
This involved removing both the colour correction filter (the one normally removed for improved red response) and the front anti-alias/ dust shake filter -which acts as a UV-IR cut filter.
When I tried the camera with only the colour correction filter removed I found a definate cut-off at 400nm and 700nm. This was extended to <380nm and into the NIR after the second filter was removed.
I have various spectra which show this result...
I was therefore surprised to see a "test" by Gary Honis on a camera with only the correct correction filter removed which seems to show a positive response to an IR LED (from the web this seems to be around 950nm)

Just a note here, when I was at SCAE I sat and listened to the Hutech rep explain to a potential customer how the H-Alpha line was at 640nm and that all DSLR's were designed to cutoff everything below 700nm and that his upgrade would allow the DSLR to take pictures of the H-Alpha line at 640nm...

Hi Ken,

I have 2 modded DSLR, one EOS Rebel made here in Mexico and one Hutech EOS 20D. I will test it next week with my LISA and see what happens.
