Motor focus for Lunt LS80 - Solved
Motor focus for Lunt LS80 - Solved
I'm looking for a motor focus to my LS80 with a crayford focuser. Does anyone know of any working solution? A hand control would be enough, just so I can sit in the shadow and watch the screen on my laptop while focusing.

Thanks, nice to be back. Here in norther Sweden the Sun is soon returning higher in the sky from it's 4 month vacation in the low altitudes.
Yes, the lazynes comes with the ages.
I've tried this one

But it wont fit. It seems that Lunt has a none standard focuser. Lakeside don't have any sollution either.

You might want to contact Leon Palmer at Rigel Systems (rigelsys at cox dot net) to see if he either has a focus motor bracket for that focuser or can make one. He has both DC and stepper focus motors and controllers. I'm using one of his DC focus motors with his nFocus controller to manually remote focus both 2" and 3" Feather Touch focusers.
Here's an picture he took of one of his DC focus motors on one of my 2" Feather Touch crayford focusers (taken off one of my Celestron C102GT telescopes):

Just received an answer from Leon Palmer and the Lunt LS80 uses the GSO "classic" focuser, this motor kit

Just wanted to report this if anyone else is looking for a motor focuser.
