Happy Birthday - Coronado PST ten years old!

Post by Merlin66 » Thu Jun 06, 2013 9:52 pm

I just realised that it's ten years ago (2003) that Coronado first launched the Ha PST.
It's truly amazing the revolution it caused to the amateur solar observing.
Other than the cheaper aluminium anodised gold tube, and the change of the front ERF to the internal mini-erf (ITF)they haven't done much more with the basic design.
It will be interesting to see what the next ten years brings.....

I can remember the pre-production model of the PST shown at Astrofest. One look through it and I placed an order. The one on show didn't have a tuner as I remember it, but it was added before they went to production.
