Here's my question and it may be obvious but I don't want to mess anything up. I am not 100% sure WHERE on the clam shell of my LS60 to mount the dove tail. So if some one would take a look at the pics below and give me some guidance, that would be awesome!
Do I use this on:
Or this one:
And which one of these should I use?
Thanks!!

Re: Help mounting Lunt LS60
hey man, I would not recommend either of those dovetails for this scope. It is designed to be mated with a flat surfaced dovetail rail and shorter 1/4 20 screws than normal. I would suggest a 4 inch long by 2 inch wide (vixen) dovetail rail. I would also strongly suggest that you mount it to the clamshell with it off of the scope to make sure the screws you use dont go through the green felt inner cover of the clamshell.

Hi Shelby
I'm with Stephen. Just make sure your screws are not too long

In answer to the second part of your question, the two holes are for the Solar Finder, which to my disappointment whe I bought one two weeks ago are not supplied by Lunt, £30.00 extra to find
