What can I expect to get
What can I expect to get
I have just ordered a Baader Cool-Ceramic Safety Herschel Wedge Photographic and I have a 130mm - F7 - 925mm Refractor and a Grasshopper 3
What can I expect to get with this combination.
I had initially intended to purchase a 100 Lunt but circumstances have forced me to put that on hold for a while so for the time being I have gone with the Baader.

Re: What can I expect to get
You have the potential to get some very good white light images....
Extreme detail in the sunspot penumbra, surface detail and rice grain granulation!
The Baader Herschel wedge is an excellent investment.

Appreciate the comments.
Should I be looking to get some barlows and if so what sizes, I already have a TV 4x Powermate

Re: What can I expect to get
In good seeing the x4 would be nice!
I find the x2 (2") or the x2.5 (1.25") Powermates more useful under my "average" conditions...

Re: What can I expect to get
You will get what everyone said Alan
See if you can find a 90mm Coronado or 1OOmm Lunt Filter set and you will have a setup like mine. Two for one and add a Lunt Cal-K set and you have three out of the one scope.
The PGR will handle a 4x in good seeing @ F7.

Re: What can I expect to get
Ralph do you mean put a filter on the end of the scope, would this mean having to remove the dew shield, and then what would that get me.
Sorry for the dumb questions.

Yeah Alan,
The filter goes on the end of the scope or dew shield. Not only do you have the foundations for three different solar scopes,
but you can use the main scope for night work as well. You will pretty much get what I get. If you want a full disc you could use a .65 reducer and that will be close with the Grasshopper 3 That's why I went that way in the first place.

Re: What can I expect to get
Hi Alan
congratulations on your new Baby. You'll get wonderful WL shots, you can get also CaK pics and Ha pics. Almost no limits to that combination (except some more filters and adapters needed ;-) )
