Lunt factory matched 75mm double stack with BF600

Post by mbucky »

For sale is a factory matched double stacked 75mm front mounted etalons with a B600 blocking filter (good for 600mm FL telescopes). These were purchased in 2008 and are no longer made by Lunt. This system provides a superb Ha solar image with rich detail. However, they have been used and show the wear. the main etalon exhibits a scratch on the ERF (see photo) but this does not impact the image or performance. The factory matched double stack etalon shows scuff marks caused by frequent removal of the dust cover (see photo)and this wear does not affect the image whatsoever. Kit includes dust covers, foam lined cases, 2 etalons, 1 BF600. Asking for $3000 plus packing and shipping via fed ex

hi guys
I think its a fair price. im just not using them since I bought the lunt 100. its a great system that is hard to part with, but it makes no sense letting them sit around unused

Hi Michael,

Just wondering about the compatibility of this nice 75mm set-up and my 952 FL ES 127. Guessing an adapter and appropriate diagonal is required?

Really want to do away with the bulky dual scope/tandem mount set-up presently in use. A CaK BF was ordered the other day and have a Baader WL Wedge, sure would like to be able to view Ha with the ES 127 too.

Would you or anyone have any suggestions here?

Thank you in advance, Tommy

hi tommy
you can purchase a BF for the focal length of the refractor, perhaps a BF 1200. that is what I used for viewing/imaging with a tak 102. that and an adaptor from preciseparts. I can let you have the tak adaptor if that will work on the 127

Hummm Michael, you got the adapter too. Haven't priced one yet but remember seeing them on the Lunt site and they are not $1.98.

I've been looking at getting a smaller OTA, maybe something that would work with your adapter - choices are open at this stage of the game.

The 127 is bulky and will most likely have to be stopped down tremendously when used on the balcony at my new place on the 21st floor in a Hi-Rise in downtown Ft. Worth, TX. Looking out across the area late in the day in the middle of summer I can see heat waves rising off the ground just like driving down the highway toward Saint Angelo out in West Texas. The global orientation of the balcony does not allow seeing the sun much before noon but does all the way to sunset.

You've given me something to think about, Tommy

P.S. That BF obviously works ok with your 102?
