Wanted – Inexpensive motorized equatorial mount

Post by earl » Wed Mar 20, 2013 12:57 am

I have a 102mm Cak and 40mm PST HA telescope that I would like to start using at solar outreach events. My current ALT/AZ mount just isn’t cutting it for daytime solar use so I need a motorized equatorial mount that can handle ~12 pounds. I don’t care about any GoTo functions since it will be solar viewing only. Does anybody have or know of somebody that has an old used motorized light weight equatorial mount they are willing to sell for the low hundreds?

Yes, I do. I have an old Orion Skyview Pro equatorial mount with dual axis drives that I picked up on Astromart, but never used. The previous owner had added some sort of after market goto encoder system to it, but that can be ignored for simplicity sake. I'm in Southern California. If you're anywhere nearby, you may contact me through the email address in my profile page. Oops, never mind. I see you're over in Texas.
