Re: 304mm Lunt
That really is amazing. It seems like they would show some images taken through the scope for that kind of price
Re: 304mm Lunt
That's the 'cheap' version on display in the pic I think..I want to see the one worth $295000,00.
Things are worth what you're prepared to pay. I'm sure Andy would be perfectly happy for you to pay $295K for a $149K item.

Re: 304mm Lunt
I'm sure some of us "modders" could build something similar at a fraction of the price.

Re: 304mm Lunt
probably not Peter. The 304mm APO lens itself would be about $90,000 US and that is only if you can talk someone into making it for you. Then add a couple internal 160mm etalons at $25,000 each and your there.
and, that reminds me to call Andy this morning and see if he can make me a pair of these in bino configuration.

Re: 304mm Lunt
I think picture in add is actually the 9" version. Here is Andy with the 230mm (9")
They may not have made a 304mm yet? I had a chance to view through this scope at NEAF last year. Very impressive but a lot of red glow around sun. A bit like the glow you get using a DSII to double stack.
