Eclipse exposure time calculator

Post by Montana »

I found this fantastic little calculator, it seems that the exposures I need to take are far more complicated (more of them) than I thought. I need to time myself with stopwatch as I don't want to miss seeing the event ;)

Might be useful info for others too

Was attending our Astrophotograpy day last weekend. One presentation was about solar eclipses. Seems this might be a good choice to test:
http://www.strickling.net/eclipsedroid.htm If you test it carefully on beforehand (do general rehersal) and set all parameters correct it might free give you time to look at the eclips as well.

Also "Eclipse Orechestrator" was mentioned but look that is no longer maintained, and free version has limited functions. For Mac there seems to be someting like "Eclipse Maestro" (also on Xavier Jubier's pages http://xjubier.free.fr/en/site_pages/so ... tware.html )

Rgrds,

Paul
