17.06.2020 Prom in early seeing and last of the AR.

Post by Rusted »

I was lucky to catch some steady seeing before it became too hot. 72F!
Swapped over to the PST BF for much lower gain setting. Added a 2.6x TS GPC for more scale.
I seem to have captured about the same amount of detail as the view on the monitor in SharpCap.
Opened in ImPPG but left as default. Nothing "extra" helped and only made it look worse.
Just trying to maintain the delicate detail.

Thanks. :bow

It was very difficult not to make the fine "threads" coarse and unnatural.
I was tempted to add more contrast and sharpening but it just wasn't possible.
No doubt Photoshop has a magic button but I don't have PS.

Thank you all for your encouragement! :bow

I have been more daring than usual.
Using a 2.6x TS GPC for more scale.
Lots of short, 500 frame captures in still moments.
PST BF for much reduced gain over the B1200.
Cropping hard from 800x600 to 400x400.
Then enlarging again to 600. Naughty!

Awful seeing for the rest of the day.

Here is the late crop caught only just above the trees:

These are great rusted! I think I would stick with the 2.6x GP for disk shots, the 1.6x GP takes in the area outside of the sweet spot.
