Milky Way down under

Post by JohnW » Mon Jan 11, 2021 7:43 am

This section of the Milky Way shows the Carina region (and the Eta Carina nebula - pink). Taken from SE Australia in my backyard with observatory in the foreground. Single exposure 20 sec x 6400 iso using a Canon Ra camera mounted on a tripod. Cheers to all.

Very impressive!

Similar to Alexandra; it's quite hard to capture it here at all.

Excellent capture of your Southern skies John.

Other than going to a (25-miles) nearby dark-site, our northern equivalent is difficult (nigh impossible) to capture such detail as yours...

Thanks for sharing
