Re: HISTORY OF ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY: TIMELINE
Thanks you Pedro.
Have just seen your video "History of Astrophotography: Timeline" which shows so much more occurred in the 1800's onwards than perhaps some of us would imagine.
I have original books such as:-
"The Romance of Modern Astronomy" by Hector MacPherson - 1910
"The Worlds of Space" by J.E. Gore - 1894
"Outlines of Astronomy" by Sir. John Hershel - 1833
"The System of the Stars" by Agnes M, Clarke - 1890
"The Story of the Sun" by Sir. R.S. Ball LL.D. - 1893
I haven't had a chance to read through all of these first editions as yet, as they have to be treated carefully, but with also early photographs included, they certainly show how advanced astronomy had gotten in the nineteenth-century, similarly as your video shows..
Regards
Terry

Re: HISTORY OF ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY: TIMELINE
Thanks Pedro, I had to take a much closer look at the mosaic as there are so many wonderful images in it. They could certainly get much better images of DSOs a century ago than I can today
