Hi,
Some moon images captured using my 250mm RCT. The seeing conditions were pretty mediocre, so I was quite pleased with the final outcome. These are some of my favourite regions of the moon.

Thanks Stu for excellent captures.
Even zoomed in to 300% on a large screen - they are well fine.
I nearly bought a RC 250mm a while back, but there would have been a problem with the roof-structure when opening the roof, as the original purpose-built observatory design was for Solar-scopes.
Cheers
Terry

These are lovely Stuart
I was taken by surprise at the lovely evening last night, I am glad you enjoyed it At teatime I looked out and it was clear and would have been a great opportunity to collimate the SCT. However, it needs to cool all afternoon and by teatime it was too late. I wish the weather forecasters could give an accurate prediction At least you don't need to cool the RC.

Brilliant images, Stu. Feels a bit like being in orbit around the moon.

Love to see the lunar images Stu
The southern highlands are some of the best terrain to explore in my opinion...the north is a close second. They look great the images posted.

Many thanks, everyone. Much appreciated. The open truss RCT certainly makes it easy to equilibrate temperature-wise
I also took some images on my Nikon in video mode for a coloured version.

This is a four-pane mosaic processed using PIPP (MOV to SER), AS!3 (stacking), MS ICE (stitching), PixInsight (deconvolution, sharpening and colour saturation).
Thanks for looking.

Hi Alexandra,
I was certainly pleasantly surprised at how the colours emerged when I first started imaging the Moon in colour. Quite beautiful, really.
