You guys won't believe this but there is now a new problem with the user database. Everyone just stay like you are and wait. I am a million times sorry for this but at least the forum is up and running...

Re: Unable to log in with old username and password
I re-registered with the same username (which will probably confuse Charlie).
Re: Unable to log in with old username and password
Couldn't log in with my old user name (DaveK) and password, and when I tried to re-register with the same name and password the system told me that the user name was already taken! New user name then, and it looks like the forum will end up with a lot of old user names that can't be accessed.

There is no need to re-register and lose all your info, Stephen will redo your password in good time, he is trying his best.

Re: Unable to log in with old username and password
After being forced into becoming a lurker and new software learner by our winter, I thought I would flex my posting muscles a bit.
Logging in seems fine.
Am I right that there is no Reply link button displayed now on the posts and we need to reply by way of "quote" as in this message?

Re: Unable to log in with old username and password
there seems to be a lot of people who either didn't receive or didn't read the lengthy email explanations sent out over the last few days and posted on the old forum, Facebook and Google+ for several days before we started this transition.
I am sorry for the confusion. If you have blocked or don't read emails from this forum, or if you have been using a unchecked email address on the forum, you probably have no idea what is going on. The forum had to be updated because it was grinding to a halt due to the size of the database. We upgraded it.
Anyway, If you have posted more than 10 posts since Jan 1st 2013 on the old solar chat, your username was retained and your password was changed to
"migraine"
(all lowercase without the quotes)
If you did not post at least 10 posts in the last year, your user login info was not transferred over as there were over a thousand scam user accounts and I have no idea which ones were good so I just deleted all the unused accounts. You can easily create a new account without my involvement on the login screen
If you tried to log in with your old info and the forum recognized your username but not your password, you could either go through the "lost password" process or
email me with your username and what you want your password to be and I will change it from this end.
If you kept trying to login with invalid data, the forum shuts you out after 3 tries. Just close your browser and reopen it and try again or email me your username and what you want your password to be and I will change it from this end.
If you have already created a new account but feel like your account is still in here under your old username, try to login with the old name using the password
migraine
all lowercase. You can then just let me know if you want me to delete your new account and leave your posts from it.
