AR 1429 with some FIZZ - 8 March 2012

Post by mattwastell »

Hi all
I got in about one hour this morning with my new Lunt80 and other bits.
I first image the entire disc using a screw in 0.5 focal reducer with the DMK31. It works very well for quick discs but there is not even focus across the image - still happy with the pic.
I then whacked in the 2.5 Powermate and moved to AR 1429. The close up was taken at 9.15am local time and the comparison image was 9.15 and 10.15am - I think there is quite a brightening of the area - I was pleased. Unfortunately I then had to go to the doctors - bummer!

Nice Matt I got some pics about 4.30 but due to computer problems can,t post(on the Ipad).Would be interesting to compare.I also get that uneven disc illumination when using a reducer.I think a B3400 blocking filter may help here .Hopefully Sunny here tomorrow arvo.
