Solar Imaging Session - November 10, 2011 (AR11339 Sunspot Group & Large Eruptive Prominences ! )
The sky this morning is good and seeing is also not bad. AR11339 Sunspot Groups continues to be the darling of the crowd on the Sun's disk amid its deterioration. The end part of the group continues to decay and very small trace of small penumbra can now be seen in that area. The central part continues to maintain its size as well as the front part of the group.
AR11338 Sunspot Group is still stable but it seems AR11341 and AR11342 Sunspot Group are now starting to get some attention as its main core structure continues to grow in size. Newly designated small AR11344 and AR11345 Sunspot Groups are starting to grow as well although still mostly pore structure for now. There are a total of 8 sunspot groups visible on the Sun's disk today.
In Ha wavelength, small AR11345 Sunspot Groups shows a good sign of solar activity inside its core as well as AR11338 Sunspot Group. Giant AR11339 Sunspot Group is very silent past 2 days. There are 2 huge eruptive prominences both in NE and NW limb while moderate and small prominences are scattered around the solar limb.

James,
The white light image is awesome man. Isnt the Sun putting on a fantastic show this week?
The difference between now and 3 years ago when we would all have done a backflip for a tiny little pore or piece of faculae is astounding..

Dear Stephen:
Thanks! Yes, solar astronomy has been ruled by many greaqt solar imagers with the easy access and affordability of equipment which in previous years are only for the rich and the professionals. Nowadays, amateur astronomers are dong a great job in solar imaging in almost all wavelength!
