Keep watching, there may be yet a last horrah! You may recall that 1429 had a major flare and post flare loop display before it came into view on the eastern limb.

Only stardust in the wind, some fine and some less fine scopes, filters and adapters as well. Switzerland 47 N, 9 E, in the heart of EUROPE :)

Good stuff! Thanks for that update Jim. Hope it carries on, doing outreach tomorrow with a big group of 10 year olds - has the potential for proms, just need to clouds to part!

Wow, the full disk is awesome. Ypu have the same noise problem than i have on the sky around the sun

Ooops!! Sorry all. I failed to note that the full disk shot was downloaded from the GONG web site, shot at Big Bear.

It is amazing that that much detail can be captured with a 28mm aperture telescope!!!

Wish I could have seen the flaring live.
