Whatching it on GONG.
It's the most incredible prominence I've seen so far.
But I'm new to solar observing :)

There are three or four solar broadcasters you can watch on NSN - clouds permitting, of course. Today, the clouds closed the show down just before it was over.

They use PST's, Lunt 60's, SS and DS, too - it depends on who is able to broadcast. It's a fun way to observe.

A question, folks: Since I am currently woefully underemployed, I often have time to be online watching the NSN live broadcasts - almost always solar stuff. Would it be of any value to y'all if I posted alerts here when something really cool to watch is happening? I don't want to litter the board with news you aren't interested in, but today's event was really quite spectacular and over quick.

And, in case you're thinking, "ah, how good could it be?", the answer is *surprisingly* good if the weather allows. It's not the same as looking through the eyepiece yourself, but it's Not. Bad. At. All.

And if it just so happens to be nighttime where you are... ;)
