Still not working for me.
Wonder if its something on this end?
Every time I insert the tif it doesn't open like the jpg.??
Not that it matters to me as the jpg looks fine and takes less space.

Re: test tif image upload
It's just blank for me too, the pop up window is also blank but it then downloads the image. Then if I click on downloads it opens. Is this correct?

Re: test tif image upload
I see the file 017color.tif fine in the above post and it opens (after some time) in the popup window.
Remember that a tif file is enormous compared to a jpg and depending on your internet speed it may take 10 seconds to an hour to open a 3MB tif file in a popup window or in a post.
I connect at 70MBps speed routinely and it took about 2 seconds for the popup to show. That is a LONG time on my connection as I can download files faster from the internet than i can from my USB backup drive..
About tif's:
The internet standard for screen resolution is 72dpi.. It doesn't matter if your image is 10 million dpi, it is still displayed at 72dpi in most browsers. Uploading an image at higher than that resolution is a waste of time and space for display purposes.
Of course, if the image is saved to a computer, it will display its native resolution so attaching it as a downloadable itme may be of some benefit if you want someone to have a full res copy of it. But uploading it to this site or any other site is sort of unecessary as it will still only be displayed at 72dpi no matter how you upload or link to it.
The one advantage to having a higher res image on here is that you can zoom in a lot further with a 300dpi image than with a 72dpi image, but no matter how far in you zoom, the resolution just keeps resetting itself to 72dpi with a smaller field of view.
Feel free to upload any size image you want but just remember that it will only display in your browser or anyone elses browser at 72dpi
In effect by uploading a 50MB tif version of an image, you are just making it take about 400,000 times as long for the reader to view a 72dpi version of the same image that could have been uploaded as a jpg and viewed in less than a second...at 72dpi...

Re: test tif image upload
OK, great, I'll use jpg from now on..
Although the problem isn't download time, it comes up with file not found when I do try to use a tif.
But it doesn't matter anymore, I'll just use the other format.
Thanks.

Hi Stephen
it works for me. No problems. Good arguments about the jpg files with 72 dpi
