23 Oct 2014 Solar Eclipse!
Exhausted after a wonderful afternoon. Sky was mostly good, lots of work to make an animation. Here's one that gives you an idea of the views - I had to change cameras when battery died, and focus was not so good as earlier ones, but not too shabby
This was after the max here - we only got to 35% or a bit more. MOVIE HERE: http://www.astrohawk.com/astrohawk/othe ... e/test.mov
Enjoy, will get something more up with a few days, including some Ha.
Here's an Ha I shot using eyepiece projection - just held my iPhone up to the eyepiece and tried to hold steady - surprising decent! And the public ourtreach and location -

OK, my first attempt at a movie, I hope to improve it later (unless someone wants to edit this and keep sun centered.)
I colorized and rotated to make N up (although some are oddly rotated, maybe I did it twice, it's late, and been a long day)
get it here:

Robert, love the images. they give a wholly different perspective to our usual view of the sun. I have seen 2 eclipses and they have a very eerie feel and your images capture something of that feeling.

Re: 23 Oct 2014 Solar Eclipse!
thanks so much everyone! I updated the link and made the movie better (more hours spent!) - less bounce, etc
It's been a learning process!!!
Hope it is enjoyed more by you, it's much smoother, although I didn't fix the color to optimize the last 1/3 with the different camera.

Re: 23 Oct 2014 Solar Eclipse!
Thanks everyone! IT's been a wonderful experience. And now I know how to easily do Solar animations over days with what I developed in photoshop, I can't wait to start making a month long rotation animation
