Nice work Chris! Isnt it nice to see it in a large size and resolution on here?

Im trying to find more ways to popularize the forum so if you guys can help, please do so.

Thanks every one! I cant wait for good seeing to return. The results so far have been tantalizing at best.

Ive been sending free glasses to anyone that asks for years Chris. Thats sort of the impetus for starting the Internet Solar Astronomy Club. Ive seeded many folks around the world with wehatever equipment and supplies I have so that they can get the same thrills I do from sharing the Sun.

Id be glad to send you or anyone else as many free glasses as you will use to share the Sun, brotha'

Hey Chris, very nice first light post! I had a neighbor friend come back from AIC with the Lunt 100 and she is very happy with it.

The Jet stream is effecting the Northern CA seeing also as well as the storms :(

Looking forward to your upcoming results.

Thanks Ken, Mark and Stephen. I can only imagine at this point how this scope will perform under steady skies and my mile high altitude. We have exceptional transparency up here at 5150 feet and this may help bring in the proms so much clearer.

Seeing will be your best friend! I am at 3100 feet and noticed that steady skies make the most differnce, maybe because the longer wavelengths we are imaging at cuts through the haze pretty well.

It is pretty weird.

Have a great Thanksgiving as I am forcing myself to do things other than Astro stuff.

Ken,

By far the worst seeing occurs when I put in the calcium k module, the 393 nm near UV has seeing micro ripples that are like 5x or more the white light view! So you have to choose which wavelength to shoot first as you watch the seeing slowly degade...

Hi Chris, your on the right path @ 5100 feet! That's X-actly what iI do to capture crisp images. However, I'm at 8300 feet (Mt Pinos). . . Isn't this Fun!
