Filaprom 22nd Nov

Post by robert »

Using a DS ED80, that is Lunt

LS75 with PST etalon at the back end and a Lunt B1200 blocking filter. It captures the prominence and surface as Mark Townley has been posting. I do like that!

So, its a80mm ED refractor with internal 20mm PST etalon and a Lunt B1200 BF? Whatever it is, the image is superb!

We love scope modification talk here and in fact, it has its own little conference where you can brag about your stuff all you want.

Thanks for posting my friend and welcome..

Robert, that's an amazing filaprom, you can really see how a filament becomes a prominence on the limb. Very well captured!

Lovely Robert! B)

People always (generally!) say that imaging filaproms / proms is best done with a single etalon, but this just shows that double stacking really does have it's place when it comes to this... Glad you've got this technique sussed, to me it looks alot more natural than the shots with the proms superimposed on the disk...

Glad you've got this technique sussed, to me it looks alot more natural than the shots with the proms superimposed on the disk... and it is a lot easier, which suits me well!
Its taken me a long time to catch on...

Yes Stephen, LS75 on the end of ED80 then a PST etalon and then a Lunt B1200 and DMK31AF
Good to be able to admit it! Had to cut 5cm off the tube to get focus....
