Some images...just about on Saturday

Post by Montana »

Well it was better than nothing, we had sunshine all afternoon, but gale force winds too. I tried all I could but the EQ6 was bouncing all over the place, I have never seen it actually pushed by the wind. So desperate measures, I got my handy husband to stand patiently with a parasol open and he battled the wind while I took just a few snap shots in its shelter. Then later on by 5pm the wind was slightly calmer but the sky clouded up. I was very lucky to get the full disc, the seeing was terrible over a roof and the files got gradually smaller and smaller as I paniced I wouldn't complete the disc. The flat has only 6 frames, a miracle but it worked fine

Congratulations on battling the elements to obtain these images. Many people would be happy with them in good conditions :bow :beanie: :bow

That 'better than nothing' seems to have been the theme song for UK Solar Imaging in 2015 so far; let's hope the summer brings better conditions

Lovely set of images there Alexandra! I missed the sun on saturday - in work for revision sessions on the morning, and then into brum on the afternoon.
