Want to use my Canon DSLR with my Lunt 80mm.
When I use the camera with a 1.25" nosepiece in the t-adapter, and insert this nosepiece in the diagonal extension (the short 1" part on top of the diagonal), to get focus I have to push the other 2" end of the diagonal all the way in, and adjust the focuser in so that is only has 3-4 mm left before it bottoms out.
Wuld be nice to have more play in focuser.
Somebody told me to remove the 1" stock extension from top of diagonal, and screw the camera t-adapter directly to the top of the blocking filter (diagonal).
How do folks attach their DSLR's to the Lunt 80mm?
1.25" nosepiece into diagonal top extension.
For focus: note 2" end of diagonal all the way in, and focuser range almost bottomed out.
Diagonal extension removed, camera t-adapter screwed to top of diagonal directly.
For focus: note how top of camera hits the end of the focuser.

Hi Jon
yes that's the way I do it too. Remove the diagonal extension, take none or a smaller one. Worked on my LUNT 60 and 100

Re: Using DSLR with Lunt 80mm.
Hi Jon...
If you still need more in-focus you can remove the spacer between the etalon and the focuser (fills in the space where the DSII would be mounted). If that gives enough focus you may not need to remove the extnsion in the diagonal. Other option is to turn the camera body 180 degress so it doesn't hit the focuser tube.
Hope you can get it working.
