Great news from NASA Night Sky Network

Post by solarchat »

Just got this email concerning our club application for official NASA recognition:

To: Charlie Bates Solar Astronomy Project

Dear Stephen and Natalie,

Thank you for your club's application to join the Night Sky Network. We have
set the end of November as our next time for accepting applications. You can
expect to hear from us by November 30th or before with your membership
information.

Your club’s dedication and desire to expand astronomy outreach and awareness
are excellent parallel goals of the CBSAP and the Night Sky Network.

Thank you for your application,

~Vivian

Yeah!

Once this gets approved we can log our events on their system and then become eligible for NASA giveaways at our events. I am also a NASA Solar System Ambassador and get stuff from them but they are limited to US residents only.

NSN has an "outreach kit" giveaway that they do periodically and I am hoping to get these and distriburte them to you club members.

this is really coming together. I love just diving in and getting stuff done. Dont you?

Excellent news. Can't wait to get started. Stephen, it would be nice if maybe at NEAF next year, we can get whatever club members are there together just to meet. (Just a thought)

I will most likely be there, since I am helping organize it this year.

Dave

By the way, I love that I'm a Solar Granule. Not sure I want to change that, all things considered.

granule, umbra, penumbra, active region....etc.
These are all user rankings that I made up for the forum based on the number of posts you make...
