Hello everyone,
I am new to the group and to solar observing in general. I have viewed the sun thru the standard glass filter but now that I have met Stephen at NEAF 2012 and had the chance to see his equipment I think I am hooked.
What I have is a very nice ES 127 and a very nice Stellarvue SV90T. I know that I need a Herschel Wedge. Right now its almost impossible to find one. I did manage to find the Lunt 1.25". I went ahead and ordered it as per Stephens suggestion seeing how difficult it is to find anything right now. So the 1.25 is coming soon but what else will I need? Also should I use my 127 or the 90 since its just a 1.25"? I may want to use it for imaging as well. I will take all your advice. HELP HELP, Thanks everyone!
I added a picture of the Super Moon and a picture of my "Leaking Light Observatory"
Im NEW! Just spoke to Stephen on the phone.

Hi Steve
welcome to that wonderful TOS free site. Have fun.
A wonderful observatory
You may want to get a continuum filter and or a deep red (705 nm TiO) filter in order to look trough the clouds

Welcome! I would use that wedge on whichever scope the seeing will support at any particular time...

A very warm welcome
There is lots of info available in the Solar reference library, have a good look through that section. Most important, enjoy your new wedge
