Hello everyone!
Alright so I've been doing solar, night time astronomy and Astrophotography for a number of years. However recently it's just hard to find the time to get out to a dark field and to setup all the equipment unless you have a permanent observatory in the backyard (hoping for that when I retire!).
So now I will be focusing more on my solar work with my Lunt and new camera I just traded. I had a ZWO colour camera which I never really used so I was able to trade it for the Flea3 1.3MP USB 3.0 Mono camera (https://www.ptgrey.com/flea3-13-mp-mono ... 300-camera).
I will be aiming to get more active on this forum as well to offer advise if I can and show my solar work.
Thoughts on the camera? Looks to have a very good resolution and 150 FPS! I will be using FireCapture as I have used it a lot in the past.
In future I would love to get the upgraded focuser for the Lunt. I also have an Orion ShortTube 80 which I was thinking of chucking a solar filter on and have a side by side setup.
Cheers!
Stefan.
Going more solar!

Re: Going more solar!
Thanks guys.
Been a while since last post, a busy start off to 2017! Holidays, work, out most of the time and other hobbies...oh and Wisdom teeth too!
I have been thinning out my equipment so I can purely focus on solar astrophotography/observing and keep my night time stuff to more visual and a bit of astrophotography.
I am hoping for good weather this weekend.
If anyone here is from Melbourne or know of the Melbourne weather the past freaking month, during the week the weather is PERFECT but I work from 9-5. Once the weekend comes its nice at around 8am then cloudy, every Saturday and Sunday!! Sometimes you think is someone really playing tricks on you?
