With the Summer grass over 2m tall I drove down to the paddock to catch the Sunset. Not quite what I had in mind but a nice end to the weekend.

Is this 2m tall grass a natural area, or will it be harvested in some way?

Brian its just an old paddock Satieria I don,t think thats the correct spelling I think it,s from Sth Africa originally.Makes good food for all the finches ,quails and grass birds as well as a winter fire hazard.

Hi Derek...

If this is a plant of the genus 'Setaria', we have several species here that are annual weeds. I thought they were a pain to manage in crop (herbicide resistance), but if you have them 2m tall ours aren't so bad

Not sure Brian I,ll look into it.Widely used for cattle fodder on the coast here though
