Sunday Sunshine 2nd April

A day of gap chasing for me today, however unlike the haze that afflicted my last couple of sessions transparency was good. Bubbling cumulus clouds meant the seeing wasn't the best, but shooting lots of files and lucky imaging meant some results. First off the full disk with the DS PST and PGR CH3.

Then zooming in a bit more with the ED80 and DS Quark with the PGR Blackfly IMX249 camera;

Then a look at the blue end, first off the full disk with the 40mm at 400mm focal length, homebrew CaK filter and PGR Ch3 camera.

Zooming in with the 2x barlow with the same setup for a closer view;

Then a closer look at AR12645 with the 80mm scope at ~3000mm focal length with 2x2 binning on the PGR Ch3 to get the exposure shorter to tame the seeing.

Wow!!! I don't know how you get such crispy sharp CaK I give up every time. These are wonderful, I thoroughly enjoyed the lot.

I struggled with cloud all day with it only clearing up from 4pm with gaps, then 5pm totally clear.
