Quark selection not very good seeing sorry

Post by Ewan »

Finally salvaged what I could from almost 1Tb of data in total.
Some better than others & like most people wishing for better seeing to come.
Thought I would try some processing left field, not everyone's taste but feedback appreciated.
Thanks for looking.

Those first 3 shots are outrageously great!
Wow the detail and even flow is gorgeous.
I love all the shots but those first three make me droll.
Well done.

Nicely done. I like the interpretation of your data by your processing that focuses on the plasma "flows". Repeated use of sharpening then smoothing filters delivers a nice liquid like feel. Like you say not to all people tastes but just another interesting way to look at the data.

That is a truly amazing set, Ewan. The plasma lines in the first three images are incredibly smooth. Well done.

I like image #9 from 08 04 2017. Good real details.

More art than science, but beautiful nevertheless. No harm in experimenting and offering something a bit different.

I bet the first two look stunning coloured.

I am probably pushing the limit of the 152mm Valery I know that. Seeing in some were very fortunate & lucky. Tried a lot of different capture settings & found some good ones. I also extended the dew shield with the D-ERF on it, not sure if that made a difference than being closed though, any thoughts ?

Thank you for the kind comments. I did say not everyone's taste but trying different things is in my nature. I shall give the 1st 3 some colour as suggested & see if it will go on a wall somewhere.

Hi, Ewan

I had to add my admiration for your work here. The first 3 are stunning and whatever your technique involves, you should continue with it.
The detail in the more "standard" looking images is outstanding.

Fully agree with Valery.
Don't like the first ones at all.

I'm guessing you're actually running at 125mm here, measure the free diameter of the ERF. Its a 135mm DERF and some of it has to be held within the perimeter of the cell.

It's using 135mm which puts me around F28 ish I think. Was wondering what difference, if any, having the dew shield up / down made apart from maybe scope balance.

It will make no difference at all the position of the dew shield.
