CaK Full Disk - 26th April

Post by marktownley »

Another day forecast to be clear blue skies at dawn was for seven of the eight oktas in the sky, the cloudy one being on the eastern horizon where the sun was, but, with minutes to spare before the routine of going to work began I got a brief gap and so was able to catch a quick full disk in CaK. Running at somewhere around 700mm focal length with the 40mm scope, homebrew CaK filter and the PGR Chameleon 3 camera.

Not sure when the next sun will be, the forecast doesn't look promising...

Beautiful disks, Mark. Lovely bright, contrasty, plage.

That homebrew filter works really well.
