Sunday Sun 18th June '17

Post by Carbon60 »

I awoke to a beautiful morning......deep blue sky, still air and a little freshness after overnight ambient cooling; no contrails and, on the face of it, just about as perfect as it can be for solar imaging (comparatively speaking that is). This is so rare for this part of the world......and it was a Sunday, so no work, except for a few jobs around the garden as we had family visiting for Father's day.

Anyhow, despite the beautiful conditions, I had to limit myself to a few hi-res images using the 150mm/Lunt35 mod, getting a closer view of ARs 2662 and 2663 and then I pushed my luck with a 5x Powermate on my 72mm refractor in CaK.

First up, AR2662

....and AR2663...

And AR2663 in CaK with my Lunt B600 module.

The fair weather is set to last another day or two, however, it's back to work tomorrow.

Thanks for looking.

Stu.

Hi Alexandra,

I did get the new toy out for a warm up.

Altair Astro RC250-TT V2 10" Truss Tube Ritchey Chretien Astrograph
Aries 265mm tri-band ERF.
Machined aluminium cell.

I don't have anything set up for Ha on this scope and although the skies were clear the seeing wasn't really suitable for the big gun and couldn't get anything worth posting in CaK or G-band. We'll see how things go over the coming weeks. :)

Cheers.

Stu.
