Saturday Sun 1st July '17

Post by Carbon60 »

It was meant to be cloudy today, so to see the Sun this morning was a bonus, although a fairly short-lived one as now the clouds really have rolled in and we're back to rain.

I took these shots between the gaps ahead of the weather front, so a bit of a rush and I'm not entirely happy with the Ha FDs. Anyhow, first up, a CaK FD image in monochrome and colour showing AR2664 heading towards the western limb with nothing to replace it, yet, so maybe another blank disk for a while.

Then over to the other end of the spectrum using a Lunt 60 with 2.5x Powermate on a Balser acA1920-155um camera to create this mosaic image in hydrogen alpha shown in monochrome, colour and inverted disk format. The inverted image is a composite with the proms enhanced.

No time for any hi-res work and the wind was picking up anyhow, so that was my lot for the day......better than nothing.

Thanks for looking.

Hope the conditions are better where you are.

Stu.

Lovely set Stu. Had a brief gap here this morning but the seeing was not very good.

Stu:
Very nice session considering the weather, I barely had time to make one image due to clouds and rain.
Have a sunny sunday,
Eric.
