5 Jul 17 - 430/10nm imaging (New images added on 6 Jul)
Last weekend I did some G-Band Imaging with the 430/1nm filter. Today, I decided to switch gear and use the 430/10nm filter instead. The setup:
ARIES D-ERF + C8 + 430/10nm + 5x Barlow + ASI174mm on a iEQ45 mount
It was rather cloudy and in between clouds, I was able to get some decent G-Band images. In all I did 13 video of about 4,000 frames each. I picked about 300 frames for stacking and pp. I did a quick post processing without too much attention paid to make the image nicer. The following is one of the better images:
And with pseudo colour added:

Alfred:
Cleaner and crispier than with the 1nm filter, seeing has to do a lot too.
Best regards,
Eric.

Turned out well! I'm feeling you have a preference of the 10nm over the 1nm filter?

Hi Eric,
That has been my observation too. However I am mindful that the seeing conditions are different when using the 430/1nm and 430/10nm. I have doing more captures and noting the seeing condition to have a better understanding of the performance of both filters.

Yes, the recording with the 430/1nm turned out better than the one done last Sunday and Monday. I switched the filter to 430/10nm to have more recordings with the 430/10nm and will be doing more recording using both filters to see their performance. If I am not lazy will use the SSM for objective comparison.

Very nice images, Alfred. That looks to be a beautiful blue sky.......just more of the grey stuff here.
It will be interesting to see the results of your filter comparisons.

The Western side was a beautiful blue. The Eastern side had clouds. After a while, I realised that a little clouds doesn't affect imaging
Unfortunately today was a total wash-out.

Thanks Alexandra. One year ago, getting this high-res granulation was just a dream. Very grateful for all the helps given by generous people in this group. I should also spend some time putting a CAK diagonal on the C8 with the tri-band D-ERF.

I did more pp on the video recorded yesterday and found some nice images. Here is another one with a slightly different work flow.
And with colour added.

The last ones are 3 dimensional, beautiful rendition.

Great images, Alfred: I agree with Eric, the last two look very 3-dimensional...

Re: 5Jul17 - 430/10nm imaging with C8 + ARIES ERF (New images added)
Hi Mark,
In all I made 13 video recordings. Surprising about half of them (6 of 13) were of reasonable quality. I will find time to redo the pp for these 6.

Hi Eric and Franco,
Thanks. You are too kind. Like most of us, I am limited by the seeing condition. I also need to work on my pp skills. Hope to catch a truly 3-D Hi Res one soon.
