AR2665 in Ha @ 7000mm - Good Seeing - July 10, 2017
We had a bit of rain last night which I think helped cool down things for the morning. It was nice and clear, so I set up with the CPC925, Aries DERF, Baader 3x telecentric, Combo Quark, and ASI174MM camera. Took a chance and skipped the reducer I usually add before the camera.Captured @ 10ms for 1000 frames, stack of best 50. Processed with AstraImage and Photoshop. I have over 200 stacks for an animation, but it'll take a while to process all of that. Comments and suggestions welcome.

That full resolution image is a stunner, Nick. I envy your seeing ... don't think I have ever found 50 useable frames in 1000!
What was your frame rate?
Cheers.
Peter.

Thank you very much Peter. I think the overnight rain was the key to the seeing. The capture was at 100fps on my Dell PC laptop. I get better rates to RAM Disk on my Mac, but the Mac can't take the summer heat in my yard. Been 110-115F by midday. My PC also chokes full res at around 1000 frames. I might get away with a stack of 100 an smooth out the noise a little. A stack of 400 wasn't near as sharp. I still choose sharp detail over smoothness.

Thank you all for the kind comments. I'm definitely pleased with the performance I'm getting at the scale I was hoping for from the CPC925.
This is a shot from later in the morning, about 11AM, two hours after the first shot. Seeing held up pretty well, although I had to wait for this window through some soupy stuff. I processed this shot in IMPPG and Photoshop, and it's 100 best frames of 1000. I've been staring quite a bit at these pixels, so not sure which processing I like.

Hi Nick,
This last shot is definitely the best one I saw from you. It clearly demonstrates a big potential of this setup.
I hope that soon you will reach even better results and also will dive in to Ca K or Ca H imaging with such a large aperture.
