NEW 12672 large group!!! 280mm + ARIES 295mm DERF + QUARK GREAT SEEING!

Post by Valery »

Hi folks!

Today is good solar imaging morning. Several good images (still in process, will post them here later).

But... NEW and LARGE AR group 12672!!!

Here it's at the extreme eastern limb.

Telescope C11 280mm F/10 SCT equipped with the ARIES 295mm DERF and QUARK Chromosphere.
Basler 1920-155.

This is a SINGLE image (processed) in a Single Stack. See the spiculaes at the limb.

Thanks for looking.

Beautiful! If this is just a single frame I am really curious about a stacked version! Keep us (who are covered under dark clouds) posted please.

Sorry, I were mistaken writing that this was a single frame image. No, this is a processed final (after staking) single image.
Normally peoples use two single stack (SS) images to show the disk details with the limb details. With such a narrow etalon as my Quark is I were able to use a single image to show disk and limb details almost equally well.

Thanks,

Valery

Aha, now I understand, thanks.
It is much softer, less dark, than you usually post here. It is a fabulous image!

1. It is much more difficult to get details at the limb than on the disk and even more difficult to get them sharp enough.

2. My images have normal brightness on my IPS monitor. Just make the monitor bright enough to show all the dynamic range
of the B/W images.

Hey, folks, are there some others who can confirm that usually my images here are too or a bit too dark? If yes, I will need
to correct my images to make them somewhat brighter.

Thanks,

Valery

Hi Valery,
I finally changed the settings on my computer, so now the brightness is a lot higher. You were right, and my comment about the darkness of your pictures was caused by the monitor. Watched some of your old posts again, with a brighter monitor they are even more beautiful. Keep them coming please!
Bart.

That's a beauty Valery. When you start trying that SSM it will be very interesting to see what values it comes back with.

Another cracking set of images, Valery.

Looks like an interesting development coming into view.
