Dear All,
I recently re-jigged my optical train to make my BF10 into a straight-through configuration.
I have not had much time to use it due to clouds, but I have some reflection issues I would like to solve.
My current configuration in my Tal 100 PST mod is as follows :
Internal sub-aperture C-ERF(tilted) -> 2" Baader UV-IR cut -> PST Etalon -> Baader 35nm H-alpha -> BF10 -> camera
I would investigate if we only had some clear skies, but I have a couple of single frames from yesterday.
Can anyone suggest from the reflection patterns which component(s) is likely to be the culprit ?
Ignore the NRs as I have a tilt unit that I intend to utilise.
Thanks,
David

Hi David,
Can't really answer your question but here is what I would do.
1) Try without the UV/IR Block
2) Turn the C-erf and try again.
3) Change the tilt of the C-erf
4) Combinations of 1-2-3
5) Flock or astropaint the inside of the scope etc.
But maybe someone has got a definitive answer!
Bart.

Thank you Bart. I really need to play a bit more but will have to wait for a clear spell.
I am hoping it is not the C-ERF as it is over halfway up the tube and not easy to access.

I also had some reflections when I used Powermates (different imaging setups). These were almos gone when I started using filtrers attached to the camera nosepiece (continuum, Ca-K, H-alphan 35nm...). Give it a go
