The T250 at F/D 35 in Ha

Post by allhoest »

The solar T250 is designed at F7, to be combined to a 4x telecentric and so reach F/D 28 for Ha imaging.

In the hope of better contrasts, it has been pushed to F/D 35.
The resulting FL is about 9m.

Here, a mosaic of 3 captures.

Beautiful Alex! Are you using a 0.5 Solar Spectrum?
The Solar Newton is intriguing. Is it difficult to hold the collimation?
Bart.

Nice capture, Alex! Very smoothly processed.

Too bad you didn't show the other two larger spots on the sun.

BTW What is your SS etalon?

Hi, Alex

Your second image looks like heaven to me. As Valery has noted, your image has such a smooth , velvet-like texture in places.
I would also like to know which Solar Spectrum filter you used here.

Hi!

Thank you for the comments.

I disassemble the secondary after each session, because I'm afraid of dust. So, I collimate at every session.
Even with the secondary kept mounted, I check the collimation at every session.

Valery, I didn't capture the 2 other spots, because when they appeared, I captured them in KLine.
And the days after, the weather was bad. Finally, I was back at work. So, unfortunately, I missed them.

I'm not a fan of inverting the images during the processing. But I must confess that this technique enhance the 3D effect.

The Solar Spectrum is an ASO 0.3A.
It should be about 15 years old, or maybe more.

But there is not only the SS. I push the pics under photoshop, but try to not overpush the contrast.
