Sometimes I find using the LS80 so much less stressful than doing higher res work.
All the following used an LS80 at 1120mm with a PGR 1" G3 or 2/3" G3

Re: Adventures with the LS80 on Oct 2
Nice images, Lou.
weeks trying to catch the same high res images I were able to catch last summer.
Partial success only. With a C11 I get the results which are a bit better than typical 9" Ha
telescopes can do, but far not as C11 can do at it's best.
However I were quite happy during this great hunt! Tons of processed movies, tens of
processed stacked images with a moderate success. Every time I start processing the next movie,
the next raw stacked image, I was experiencing extremely high expectations, high hopes that now,
at this time, I will finally get a real great result! These are such wonderful, intoxicating hopes for
maximum results! I do not experience anything like this, using small telescopes of 100-150mm for
sun imaging. Reach a success with a large aperture and then no way back.

This is easy. But... also so much different finall prize! I have spent a whole last two
weeks trying to catch the same high res images I were able to catch last summer.

Truly excellent images, Lou ! Both the surface shots and the FD's show incredible detail.

Re: Adventures with the LS80 on Oct 2
Nice images Lou!
For me it's about a balance of aperture and being able to get regular results. I feel this summer i've wasted too much time making repeated exposures at 8" trying to capture these brief moments of good seeing, that in the end never really materialised. I should have just backed off on the aperture, say to 5" and got some images instead of endless Gb of blurry movies. It comes down to experience of local conditions I think.
