Oct 2nd Short Session

Post by MapleRidge »

Good day everyone...

I had a short run of imaging on Monday just prior to local noon when I was home for lunch.

The full disk below was through the LS80T/B1200Ha solar scope:
LS80T_Ha_105155-ASI.jpg
LS80T_Ha_105155-ASI.jpg (419.27 KiB) Viewed 2055 times
The activity associated with AR's 2682/2683, including the long filament dominated the view and there were still traces of AR2681 on the western limb. The mosaic below was taken through the CR150/DSII/2.7x Telecentric and ZWO 174MM camera:

Solar-Ha-fc.jpg

I was rushed for time, but finished off with a few images of the proms...they were not overly large but I found these two looked quite nice:

North_Prom.jpg (50.56 KiB) Viewed 2055 times
West_Prom.jpg
West_Prom.jpg (32.63 KiB) Viewed 2055 times
This covers the images from Monday...nice to follow this group of AR's across the disk for 3 days. Rain today, but maybe back to clear skies the rest of the week and start of the weekend as well.

Questions and comments are always welcome.

Brian

Lovely images, Brian. Very nice FD with that large serpentine filament, shown beautifully also in the close view. Lots of nice fine detail in those proms too.

Thanks Pedro!!!

I only used a DMK camera for a limited time for planetary work.

The main camera I use to full disk Ha with the LS80t is the PGR Grasshopper Express (ICX674 chip)...great camera.

Over the past few years I have used the ICX174 chipped ZWO camera for most of the longer focal length solar work, and the ASI1600MMm for single frame full disk WL/CaK through the Istar scope.

The ZWO290MM is the main planetary camera on the C14 now days, I have a few Lumenera. ZWO, and PGR models in hibernation :o

Hi Lou...

Thanks for your feedback! I haven't been out to see if the filament has stayed or not...might be Sunday before I get much of a chance again. Seem to be a few traces of it in other posts, but getting close to the limb. Hope if shows some nice proms on its way around the limb!

The filament certainly looks best in the inverted version as it shows its length and shape much more easily, these are great images Brian :bow :hamster:

Thanks Alex...

I have had little favorable weather or free time to get out, so I have been quietly following everyone's work here lately!
