A little 'spurt prom' as a goodbye from AS12683
Just a few hazy gaps in the overcast this morning but I managed to get about 20 minutes (with a few breaks).
A very nice prominence on the Eastern limb and an even nicer 'spurt prom' as a goodbye wave from AS12683
I even managed to capture a short animation despite hazy clouds drifting through - only about 20 minutes but better than nothing

Yes, I know the animation is 'upside down' - it just looks better that way

These turned out really well Mike! I was fishing the gaps too. I definitely didn't have a long enough gap for an ani though.

Cheers Mark.
It was 'touch and go' with a few missed captures.
One of those 'right time, right place' events where the 20 minutes of intermittent sunshine coincided with the little surge prom doing its stuff.
I'm still amazed how well the Lyra 152 with its full aperture ERF works in really pretty poor conditions where all of my other solar scopes would be almost useless!

It's a nice piece of kit Mike, that's why. You took the time to optimise it with all the reducers and spacers etc with the etalon and it pays dividends. I want to get me something in the 120-130mm range for next year for when our lovely seeing isn't playing ball with the HaT. We'll have to get to the bottom of that Lunt100 of yours one of these days.

Excellent pictures of the prom and a great animation, that is a lovely active surge. Very lucky indeed Mike
