Newbie introduction to solar

Post by HansH »

Hello everyone,

Just signed up to Solarchat to learn a lot from all solar junkies here.

I am living in Agadir - Morocco, the sun here is a friend and enemy at the same time.

Many of you may envy me for having 320+ days of sunshine, but take my bet I envy you all evenly producing such beautiful artwork of the sun. I am just starting to try to get the hang of solar imaging......a long way to go still I fear.

Recently have purchased a Lunt LS50THa + DS and started some imaging with Skyris 132c.
Got the point already that mono rules... probably a better camera rules as well in my case.

Hope to learn a lot from you all.

Clear skies.
Hans.

Hi, Hans

Welcome to this board. Be sure and post some solar images when you can and of your surroundings if you wish.
Yes, most people will envy your 320 days (!!) of sunlight especially when some of us live under extended periods of clouds and we "need" to see the sun.

Lou

Thanks for the welcome messages.

I am originally from Northern Europe, so I know the cloudy and rainy days all too well.

No matter the huge amount of sunny days, the copper ball in the sky inviting (forcing :? ) me every day to observe, even if I dont want or lack the time. The attraction is big, much bigger now than the night observations I already am doing for several decades.Working from home on the other hand has its advantages though.

Rest assured I will come with questions and hopefully some decent results, just be patient.

Clear skies.
Hans.
